Computerised Accounting Systems (Course director). This
innovative course for third year accounting students was
designed and co-developed with J. Whitman. The course
covers the design and implementation of accounting systems
and their associated technologies. It also introduces
students to computer audit techniques. The course includes
the theory of design and stresses the importance of the
organizational setting and human responses. Student numbers
30-40. Evaluation score 1990/91=1.7 (1=Excellent, 4=Poor). |

Information Systems. Part of a second year course in
management accounting. Material was incorporated on managers'
needs for accounting information in organizations. Jointly

Systems Analysis and Systems Design (Course director).
Two new courses were designed and presented at the University
of Connecticut School of Business for final year students
as part of their new undergraduate degree in Information
Management. The courses involved a considerable amount
of project work. Student numbers: approx 12. Questionnaire
results for teaching rating: 4.2, department average 3.9
on a scale of 1 to 5. |

Management Information Systems (Course director). A
graduate MBA course in Management Information Systems
was presented during one semester and at one summer school
at the University of Connecticut. Student numbers: 20-30.

Information Management. This was the core course in
Information Management for second year undergraduates
at the University of Connecticut. The course covered the
theory of M.I.S. and introduced students to Lotus 1-2-3,
dBase II, word processing and a statistical package. Co-taught
with three other lecturers. Student numbers: 300. Questionnaire
results of teaching rating: 4.0, average rating on the
course: 3.3 on a scale of 1 to 5. |

Organizational Impacts of Information Systems (Course
Director). This is an innovative course for final year
undergraduate students, designed by Professor Robey at
Florida International University. Using a case study methodology,
the course explores the concepts of organizations, the
consequences of information systems, theories of impacts,
and solutions in organizations. Each student was required
to submit and present a research report on a system s/he
is familiar with. Student numbers: 40. Teaching rating:

In addition to the above lecturing duties, I have tutored as
follows: First year: financial accounting and management accounting;
second year: management accounting, computing and finance;
third year: corporate finance; management accounting; computerized
accounting systems; graduate: several MA seminars. Extensive
experience teaching computer appreciation to mixed ability
City and Guilds students, FORTRAN programming, computer information
systems for accountants, and statistics for business.
