Biography

Dr Freddy Lecue is a research fellow in the Centre for Service Research at Manchester Business School (formerly the School of Informatics), University of Manchester. He is working on European Union projects SOA4ALL, COMMIUS and SUDDEN funded by the European Commission 7th Framework Programme. Dr Freddy Lecue holds a PhD in Computer Science (Ecole des Mines de Saint-Etienne, France), a MSc in Computer Science Web Intelligence (Ecole des Mines de Saint Etienne, France) and a BSc in Computer Science (University Jean Monnet of Saint-Etienne, France). Prior to joining the University of Manchester, Dr Freddy Lecue was a Research engineer in France Telecom R&D, Rennes, France, from 2005 to 2008. During his research position in France Telecom R&D, Dr Freddy Lecue worked not only on internal projects funded by France Telecom R&D, but also on projects associated with the Network of Excellence KNOWLEDGE WEB and the European Union project SPICE funded by the European Commission 6th Framework Programme.

Research Interests

His research interests are in Knowledge Representation and Reasoning (especially Semantic Web, Situation Calculus, AI planning], Software Engineering, Service-Oriented Computing (especially Web Services), Information Extraction and Integration. Dr Freddy Lecue is especially interested in automating use of semantic Web services such as their Discovery, Selection, Composition, Optimization, Execution and Monitoring. He has been recently involved in the design of semantic links based Web service composition, and has participated in the development of techniques, algorithms and tools for automating such a level of composition.
